The Dachshund Club of Southwestern Ohio, Inc. was established as a non-profit organization in 1971 with the following objectives:
To encourage and promote the breeding of purebred dachshunds and to do everything possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;
To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which dachshunds shall be judged;
To do everything in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, rally, obedience trials, field trials and other events;
And to conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, rally, obedience trials, field trials and other events under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
